Angry Phone Call Wont End (2014 V8 Vantage S)

Hey all,

Anyone else notice as of recent that their phones will not end a call properly on the cars bluetooth system? Even after hanging up, the call "continues" on the display screen in the waterfall.

Nothing seems to stop it, even restarting the car. Wasn't an issue before the more recent iOS 14 updates and I've transitioned phones as well (iPhone SE to iPhone 12 Pro Max).

Anyone else experience something similar?

Sounds like an iPhone software issue for sure. Age technology could be in play also. There is an updated Bluetooth module that enhances the bluetooth to stream music and larger phone book etc. Not sure on cost or if it would solve your issue.

Funny thing is for the last 2+ years, it never did that.

Something had to have changed with the software, it's driving me bananas. Hoping that someone else may have experienced the same thing and can lend some advice.

1st free thing I would try is clear all phones from bluetooth, then under drivers dash locate the bluetooth module and disconnect it for 5 minutes. Reconnect and pair new phone.

I just swapped batteries, so the car was fully powerless for a few days but the phone settings maintained (logged in memory). Happy to give whatever a shot.

Never looked under the dash, I'm guessing there are photos of the module I should look up.

Same bluetooth problem

Hello, i recently owned Aston Martin DB9 2014 the car has only 1000km on it, so its like new, had the same problem twice today.I can’t literally stop the call, counter keeps counting call duration that does not exist, while that happens i cant control music volume, phone volume only. Have you sir already solved this problem?
Best regards

No! I haven't!

It's very likely something changed in iOS over the last few versions that the car is not equipped to handle. Likely the solution is a backwards compatibility with the cars specific needs, but it is odd that Apple made the change cause it's not a one off situation.

My company integrates smart security capabilities into a car (plug and play sensors with cellular/GPS/Bluetooth that send you a notification in 2.4 seconds if something disturbs your car), I can have one of our engineers take a look at this but I'm sure there are other people this is happening to, they just haven't noticed yet.

Anyone else?

I don't think a software update will fix that.

Have you tried my suggestion of deleting all phones and a manual rebooting of the module?

Module is behind the headlamp switch has 2 orange fiberoptic lines into it. You need to disconnect the power supply connection, not the fiberoptic connection.

You have to press and hold the phone button on the center console and it will release the phone call and go back to stereo setting. This happened to me and I was frantic trying to figure it out.

iOS 14.5 is just coming out today. Perhaps it's bug fixes may solve the problems that you have?
