I've got a few of the redpants / astoninstallations TPMS bypass modules if anyone needs one, please PM me. Turns out in my 2007 V8 Vantage, even with 4 wire smart tire system, simply unplugging the module was the way to defeat the system.

So on your 2007 just unplug it, but that won.t work on a 2009 so how does the redpants setup work? how much does this setup cost? Thanks and be safe

On my 2008 DB9 this TPMS defeat plug i purchased from bavarianstance second hand worked perfect. Fastest mod ever and very satisfying not having to clear error message

I planned to get a new set of tires for my 2012 V12 Vantage. Since the car was manufactured in November, 2012 the TPMS sensors are over 8 years old, although still working. The V12 Vantage uses the old SmartTire system (you can tell if your car does by noting there is no schematic display of the wheel tire pressures and you have a small box beneath your glove box with lights to indicate the status of the tires). I talked to my local dealer about replacing them and he said the sensors were now $350 each from Aston. I wasn't about to pay $1,400 for just the sensors so did some searching. I found this thread on PistonHeads: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/...&t=1845335&i=0

The tread discusses this situation and recommends using sensors from a company called Autel. I purchased 4 Autel MX sensors for $120 and the Autel TS401 TPMS programmer for $135 on Amazon. The basic idea is to use the TS401 to program the MX sensors with the serial numbers of the old SmartTire sensors. When you remove the old SmartTire sensors, their serial numbers are printed on each sensor.

Yesterday I took my V12 Vantage to the dealer for the new tire install. They programmed the Autel Sensors with the same serial numbers as the old SmartTire sensors using the TS401 and installed them in my wheels. Everything worked perfectly.

So for $255 I got new working TPMS sensors for my car. This doesn’t have to be done by a dealer, any place that you chose to install your new tires should be able to do this.
