Has anyone seen this? It appears there are runs (4 lines) in the clear coat on the rear deck lid and it’s in the same area on both the driver and passenger side. I know the previous owner and he hasn’t gotten any work done (he’s the third owner though).

 

I've seen it. They appear like masking tape under the paint and are evenly matched and spaced. I believe its something that happened from the factory as earlier cars had dimples form after manufacturing.
Only a guess but I believe its poor preperation and either tape is underneath or residue from tape has been trapped under the paint/clear.
