Pre Purchase Questions

Test drove a 2015 AMV8Vatage. 14K miles. Great car but I was shocked at how jumpy the automatic transmission was. Much better with the paddles but man, it was bad. I know this is a common fault with this car and I don’t mind the paddles at all but before I go any further and pay for a PPI I wanted to check with you all to see if this is really normal. Much more noticeable in lower gears. There are no similar cars to drive to compare it too. TIA.

even my wife won't drive the car in "D"... it's awful.
Paddles is the only way to drive an ASM.

Single clutch manual trans cars all need to be shifted using the paddles only. Only dual clutch manuals can do a reasonably convincing job of mimicking a torque converter automatic in terms of smooth self shifting. You either enjoy the involvement of single clutch paddle shifting, or you prefer the pseudo auto mode of dual clutch.
