Won’t start after dead battery recharge

The battery went dead for lack of use on my ‘06 Vantage V8. The battery was charged then it won’t start. The engine turns over but it’s as if it has no gas. A warning light is the says service the emission system. Can anybody tell me what’s the problem?

Check that the Inertia Cut-off switch in the right corner of the trunk/hatch hasn't tripped.

I hooked up the trickle charger in the trunk and left it overnight. The next day it started right up, but there were several waring lights on to include service emissions. I drove it about 4 miles and shut the engine off while I went into a store. When I restarted it everything was back to normal. I hope my car will always fix itself!

Happy your trickle charge worked for you.
I'd suggest 3 things
- Check the age & starting amps of your battery. If it's over 3 years old and or weak, consider replacing it. Batteries don't get better, it's failed you once- fair warning, it won't always fix it self.
- Invest in a battery maintainer for your present and future new battery.
- (My Favorite) Drive and enjoy it more it more!

Unless your battery is a deep cycle type (boat/rv), batteries that discharge can get a build up of sulfides on the cells and make the recharges weaker and weaker.

i've learned that some (most?) of the "emission" warnings fix themselves. my suspicious nature leads me to believe that there is a method to that madness that is not discussed in polite company.....
