Software or battery issue?
Software or battery issue?
I changed the battery of my 2013 V8 Vantage about a year ago. I couldn't find any top end or AGM batteries in the new form factor (T8 / 93) used by the 2013 Vantages so got the Duracell SLI93T8 (Ultra BCI Group 93 Car and Truck Battery). In the past year, I've been seeing some strange electrical (possibly?) gremlins.
1. Phone Bluetooth connection - This happens about 95% of the time. When I'm done talking and disconnect a call, the phone disconnects but the car Bluetooth thinks I'm still on the call and continues to show the call and minutes on the screen. Effectively, I can't use any other functionality (music, radio etc.) because the car thinks I'm still on the call. Another variation of this is if someone calls, I see the "XYZ...Answer?" on the screen. Regardless of if I hit connect or disconnect, the Bluetooth gets stuck on that screen and again, I can't use any functionality until the car has been turned off for a long period of time.
2. A couple of weeks ago I got the "Emission system service required" message with the check engine light. It went away the next day.
3. This week I got the "Passenger airbag off" message (noone and nothing on the passenger seat). It went away after a couple of drives.
4. This could be unrelated but when the navigation screen folds down, it judders a bit about midway.
During the last service, I told the dealership about the Bluetooth issue and also asked them to check the battery. They said that they reset the Bluetooth and that the battery was fine. The issue continues.
I also got the battery checked at Batteries plus Bulbs. The battery showed fully charged and higher CCA than it is rated for.
The battery hasn't had any problems starting the car, even after a few no-use days.
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after 15 minutes.
Trying to figure out if this is related to the battery somehow or maybe some other module / software is malfunctioning. Any ideas?

I don't think the problems you're experiencing are related to the battery.
1. likely some kind of software glitch
2. this happens intermittently sometimes, may be a sign of O2 sensor on its way out
3. likely a loose connection under the passenger seat occupancy sensor, usually happens if you move the seat too far backwards
4. this is probably due to the gears in the navigation screen mechanism, probably needs some grease and/or replacement of gears (if haven't already).
good luck

I'll let the dealer figure out the Bluetooth issue.
