Hi All

Got in my 2009 V8V this am to go to a Cars and Coffee and my car went thru its normal start up sequence and then a "click" ...no start...

Cycled the ECU out of the key slot and then tried again, restarted just fine.

Battery strong and newer. Drove around the block, warmed up and figured I try again, so pulled car back into garage, shut it down and again a "click", then a normal start after the second try...

I figured I'll take another car to Cars and Coffee this AM but wanted to get this out for any thouoghts/comments...

I'm thinking perhaps ECU switch? Starter? Battery in fob is less than year old and I'm told that the battery is really for lock/unlock.

Thanks

Yes, battery in ECU does nothing for starting. Have you tried additional keys? The docking station for the ECU can be very temperamental and costly expense when it fails. Try using ECU at a slower pace when starting. Replacement of the Docking station is a DIY as no key programming is required. And if it's a early 2009 with the all black flap you get to upgrade to the new logo.

thanks, tried the slower process, waited for red light and had no issues this weekend.

Is it worth while to take it apart to clean it?

I'll look into replacement.

One could try some duster in a can for computers, module is on the top inside. But probably won't do much.
