Great point... So, here's the dilemma... My 08 has 19,615 on it.. So, average on 1,401/year. I've logged almost 1K miles in 8 weeks,,, I feel like I can't continue to drive it like that, or I may take a hit.. Should I let it go and get something w/more miles on it? Have always wanted a super clean 2006 CL55... If I could find a nice one w/30-40K on it, I'd drive the wheels off it.. This,,, I am not sure... BTW, the letter color... I love reds, but this has a nice "baseball glove" color to it. IMO, suits the exterior color nicely. Looks elegant...
Excited to join this forum as I'm narrowing down my search for the next car. It has come down to three: Evora 400, AMG GTC/S and the V12 Vantage. I know they're very different, but here we are. V12 vantage is on the top right now but also the only one I haven't driven.
All to say this example has come up: V12 Vantage. High miles but I absolutely love the color combo and it's a manual (although I'm not stuck on having a manual). Prices still seem high. Can't decide if they'll come down due to all cars coming down and high gas prices, or if they'll go up due to no more v12s!
Would love to hear your thoughts. Would obviously get it inspected for clutch life, brakes, etc. Doesn't look like it comes with the accessories
The wear items on these can be very expensive. The brakes will run you $12,000, clutch another $6000, that's why you PPI so you have a good idea of any surprises waiting for you, and any PPI isn't going to catch them all. These are not cheap cars to fix. On the flip side while a 5,000 mile car will sell for $150k the chances it has garage rot are also high. You never know when a seller is moving on because he knows he's looking at a $20,000 bill soon and wants to pass it on to somebody else, or if he's already spent all that money. That's why service records are so important with these because you know what's been done, and what hasn't.
That said I'm in the love the interior camp and if it's been mechanically maintained like a fine watch then it would make a great driver. When it crosses 100k miles expect the value to tumble hard, everybody just gets too scared of what it could cost. They say the most expensive car is a cheap Jaguar, I beg to differ, it's a cheap Aston.

I put 1300 on mine in the same time. Did you buy it to drive or worry about depreciation? You can't have both
Looks good, love the interior and the fact that it's actually a manual. Get a pre-purchase inspection and hope there's service history.
The mileage isn't an issue. In fact, my opinion is that it's going to be in better shape than a 2000-mile garage queen. These cars prefer to be driven, they tend to break when they sit. My '09 V8 manual is coming up on 50k, and it's doing great.
Yup
Rare occurrence of exhaust valve swallowing something from the catalytic converter at about 38K miles.
Engine/clutch/cats etc replaced by Aston under extended warranty at Miller Motors.
Thanks,

Regardless of 12 or 8 a ppi is cheap to me when spending 100k. See the car and test the easy things like door, hatch and hood struts hold open correctly. It has a cracked waterfall. That is a 1000.00 part from scuderia or 2800 from a dealer. Little things that may or may not drive you crazy. You want to enjoy, so just be sure you know what it comes with and are you ok cleaning up issues that might bother you. Very personal decision. Best wishes!
What do you mean a cracked waterfall? What is the waterfall? Thanks.
I had owned a 2012 V12 Vantage for seven years. Same exterior color as this one...in fact, when I first saw this on Auto-Trader, I thought it was my previous car.
I wouldn't let the mileage bother me. These (the 2011 and 2012 V12's) are rare cars. Less than 200 V12 Vantages made in 2012! Prices have jumped dramatically over the last couple of years (yes, I know all used cars are up).
I had sold mine for $82K in late 2020 with 55K on the odometer...lower mileage ones were going for $110K, now close to $150K as you can see on Auto-Trader.
Great car, lots of fun.
Check it out thoroughly.
Thanks,
JH
Good selection of cars you are deciding on. I would not exclude V8 Vantage as well. I use to own the Evora and loved it. Would like to get another one.
Which Evora did you have? I'm not really excluding the v8 vantage, just think I'd always be wishing it was a v12 (even if it handles better).
