New V8 Vantage Owner - Noob saying hi and looking for parts

Hi! I pick up an 06 V8V Manual tomorrow!

I need the lowest bar of the 8-bar grille! It's going to drive me nuts until I get it so I can take the brit plate off!

Car is pretty honest with a few interior leather imperfections I haven't decided how to deal with yet.

I got this car because I'm pretty DIY and these seem conducive to a lot of that mentality.

Any other tips for a newbie!? Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the club and enjoy!

Check out the stickies on the forum for FAQs.

When I first bought my Aston I replaced a bunch of parts, had the interior refreshed/restored, added a Dension for iPhone and aux music, pulled fuse 22, and eventually added new coilover suspension and wheels.

It's a fun journey! We're here if you have any questions, but again, stickies and search are a good way to go. Keep us posted on progress!

Congrats!!

Redpants.lol is a good source for Aston Parts run by a forum member and I have had good luck buying a bunch of stuff from him. I don't think he would just have the lower bar though for your grille. You could get the updated 6 bar version if you are OK with the $1300 or so that they cost. Or maybe someone who did the upgrade has an 8 bar version they'd let go for cheap..

Maybe this is my lack of familiarity with AM parts but I genuinely can't find it after some looking.

Would you be able to send me the link please kind sir?

there are multiple grills that will fit as well as multiple ebay sites. you might want to check these out. one has an entire grill one has just the slats. quite a price difference.

Does anybody know if the AMR mesh grille will look good on a meteorite silver car?

I'm just scrambling to get a complete grille and lose the British plate.

Any suggestions welcome.

congrats on your purchase. I bought my 06 vantage in 2019 and have loved it ever since.

i got my AMR mesh grill from Redpants website.

I really like the look and gives it more of a race car look...

If you want to add carbon fiber mirror caps - will need some double sided tape/silicone glue as no clips like OEM.

Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps, S60/V70/S80, Type 2

https://www.vivaperformance.com/carbon-fiber-mirror-caps-s60-v70-s80-type-2/

If you want to change up the front lip:

Vantage Extended Splitter (V8)

So it looks like the previous owner had them drill through the front bumper to install the GB plate bracket .Not sure how I can remove the plate and best cover up the holes.

I still haven't been able to find an 8 bar parts grille.

I had quite a scare when a detail cloth someone left in the engine bay started smoking at an intersection. Grabbed it before it ignited.

The headlights were pointed VERY low. I checked the sweep on startup and it seems to work as it should but I aimed them up anyways. I could only see about 30ft in front of the car. Haven't driven it after dark yet.
I also have noticed the pads put out a LOT of brake dust already! I've cleaned the wheels twice in two days!

Lastly any way to add Bluetooth streaming on a NON-Nav car? Mine is equipped with the Bluetooth phone preparation but I don't see an ipod cable anywhere and I don't have nav.

Sorry for all the question but I am just trying to get my footing. I am enjoying the car very much!

Fellow noob.

Hi, Im a new member too.
Bought MY09 V8V 4.7L SportShift last week.
24,500 Km only. Pristine condition.
I'm still finding my feet too.
PistonHeads has a pretty comprehensive AM forum as well.
They have a dedicated alternate parts thread that is handy.
Hope this link works, otherwise just search PistonHeads and drill down.
Cheers
