Bat Flattery

They say flattery will get you nowhere, well a flat battery is the same.
I guess this has been asked before but as a newbie I'm entitled to a little latitude I hope..
My '09 V8V intermittently discharges its battery overnight. Has happened 2x in past week.
I have owned her just over a week and 2x jump starts!
Everything was switched off. First time I even had the battery conditioner connected.
Battery was new in January.
Any suggestions? Leads to threads?
Cheers,
Frank

Ok. What is your thinking? Battery was down to 8.4V. Maybe poor ground corrupting ECU? Something not shutting down?

Battery was new in January, doesn't matter we need it tested today for a base line. Parasitic draw should be done with a known good battery. Dropping to 8v overnight should be easily identified with a draw test within 30min as everything should shut down.

Can I accurately test parasitic draw with door open? Or do I need to set up test leads externally and close up and lock vehicle?
Also, will disconnecting battery set off the alarm?

The other odd thing is that it is intermittent. Only happened 2x in 8 days.

Test the battery. Bought a new battery, kept on a battery maintainer 24/7. Battery had to be replaced less than a year later.

Door open, use a tool to close the latch mechanism. Alarm will not go off with battery disconnected.

Have you had any strange things happening that you've noticed in the week or three prior to this? When my battery was on the way out the radio would come on of it's own volition, the alarm module would say it had been activated, and various other one off hauntings were happening until I replaced the battery. The one I removed (that's a really fun DIY) was only 9 months old. However, it had been installed in Ohio, in winter, and had been living in Florida with me for a full summer, fall, and winter...I think the temperature swing killed it or these cars just eat batteries for some reason. Mine was an Interstate, and replaced with another higher rated Interstate.

I have had some weird stuff happening. Last week while driving, twice in 5 minutes the dashboard went out. Speedo, Tacho fell to zero and all displays went dark. Came back on after about 10 seconds. A bit disconcerting when driving SS, at least for me as a new SS driver. Only had car 2 days when it happened. Repeated, went dark again after about 5 minutes then all good since. No recurrence for a week. I have a spare new battery so will probably swap that out in morning and see how that goes, without the battery isolation switch. Of course, it is an intermittent fault so may take a week or 2 to really know. I'll get current battery load tested at shop too.

I also had an odd voltage when I scanned with the Foxwell, I think it was 13.2 V, engine running. Sounds like a battery on the way out to me if you had that stuff going on.

Gotta check ALL of the ground connections for sure. A little corrosion will not let your cars electrical system work properly. A visual might not be enough, taking them out and cleaning then reinstalling with some corrosion guard would be good. Yep, check your "new" battery, to eliminate the unlikely event that it's failed. Do you know any of the history of the car? Is it from a costal area? Any previous maintenance info? Good luck in sorting it out. Sometimes the smallest things cause the unusual issues with Astons. One thing the car demands is good, consistent electrical system power. Good luck sorting things out!

Are there any 'hidden' earth straps? Vehicle is from New South Wales and Victoria. All our major cities are on the coast but I don't think it was ever beach side. No evidence of salt or corrosion. She is in mint condition.
