2010 v8 vantage

ok , so ive had the car out a few times , ive never driven one so i have a couple questions . When taking off it seems there is a delay , almost like when your letting out a manual clutch, kind of a vibration ,I stopped at a neighbors house yesterday , had my foot on the brake waiting for him , when i went to leave took my foot off the brake and gave it some gas , it wouldnt move and started rolling backward , i stopped applied the hand brake and released it and it started off in first gear , Is all this normal operation ? seems odd to me , thanks

Do you have a sportshift vehicle or a manual?

My best advice is to drive it like a manual. It's an automated manual—not a true automatic—so the off-the-line characteristics will feel different. Especially if there is a downward grade while the car faces uphill.

Next time you drive it, try starting from first gear (use the paddles) and see if the delay/shudder is less than you've described.

It could be as simple as getting used to it. It could also be mild (like needing a new ASM hose and a transmission fluid change), or it could mean the clutch is on the way out.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Also, consider a clutch re-learn. I'm not familiar with the procedure, though, my car is a manual. There are a few threads on how to do it, easy enough to search for.
