Same. Always follow rule number 1. Keep said key in pouch until you are within vehicle. It’s all part of the rather long startup process but, as every drive is an event it’s all part of build up. I still use the two finger insert, wait for light show, press in clutch, key glows red, fire it up.
Re-reading this it sounds like a euphemistic process. Maybe it is.
I had the Valet-> Glass ECU conversion done this week by Chris at Phoenix bespoke keys and can also wholeheartedly recommend them. It is exactly like a brand new ECU key and works perfectly. Now I have 2 glass ECU keys (one showing some wear and a nasty screw hole where I had to drill out a tiny stripped screw) and one flawless new example and one plastic valet key left. The real question now is which glass ECU key do I use? The fresh one or the beat up one I don't care about... Hmmm....
I recently replaced the battery in my glass key. One of the two tiny screws was stripped (actually, it was the threads in the metal base). I could remove the screw, but it wouldn't retighten properly. The screw fell out when I removed it from the dock, fortunately landing where I was able to find it (and not disappearing in the dash). I ordered a new metal base and two new screws from Phoenix -- problem solved. Great service.
