PJK is infamous around these parts
Vantage V8 headers

Poking around on eBay, and I found a set of V8 headers from the UK that *appear* to be the same as the new Velocity AP headers (other than the coating). There's a fairly significant difference in price ($1650 vs $3450). All the rest of my parts are Velocity AP. Just wondering if these eBay headers are, in fact, different or are just a knock off.

Im not sure which ones you are talking about on ebay, but here are some things to think about. The workmanship would be in the back of my mind and since you are already familiar with VAP, you know their workmanship is perfect, and if not, their customer service is top-notch. Second, the time and potential cost it takes to install one of these is no joke. If you are a DIYer like me, this took me 4 weeks (weekend time only) to install and a shop quoted me 8-16 hours (that's with experience). You have to drop the subframe, which admittedly I was not trying to do, but ended up dropping the subframe eventually when all my shortcuts came to a deadend. (So if I wasn't trying to find workarounds or cheat it, it probably would have taken me 2 weekends). If you are not a DIYer, then I would budget somewhere around 150 per hour for up to 8-16 hours. Now imagine all of that just to find out the quality of the headers was not good (aka poor welds, "equal length tubes" not actually mendrel bent etc)

This is just my opinion, I'm sure others will have their own. Best of luck. I have videos of the install process and a write-up somewhere on here if you are looking to try it yourself.

I have the "Top Gear" headers and the quality was very nice. Not sure if these are those, but pricing and description sounds similar.

I can't speak to mating them to the rest of the VAP stuff as I cut the flanges off and put v-bands on, and made my own cats and x-pipe. Install of the headers was a pain and took me about 6 hours, with a lift. Not the headers fault, just limited clearance.

The Top Gear headers are a knock off of our V1 headers (2 versions ago) that have the firing order wrong on one of the banks (a holdover from an external design, from before we had our own manufacturing facility) and do not have the same primary tube specifications, collector design or post-collector tubing. We've improved the design twice since then, and can now achieve substantially more power and torque.

There's nothing wrong with them, but it's like buying an IPhone 6, in 2023.

Ok.....I disagree with the iphone statement. There is nothing wrong with an iphone 6 because I still use mine in 2023 LOL.

Agree with everything else haha. Bottom line, buy from VAP.
