Underseat drawer safe

Have any of you fitted an under seat drawer or safe for a sidearm or similar? I'm curious about the possibility and what product you chose etc. This would be on my 07 V8 Vantage, thanks!

I think this issue depends on state requirements and what you intend.

Here in Florida, I generally carry everywhere and use a small safe in the truck area to store my firearm in case I go to a place where I can't carry.

Otherwise my firearm is fully reachable when I'm in the car.

Do you want a safe that is reachable while driving?

That was the idea, yes. I think the glovebox is too small for much of anything, and I'd rather not risk the seat leather. I'm also in Florida. It seems to me the limitation is the space between the seat base and floor, and the electronic hardware installed there, behind the 'hump'.

I spent 25 years as an Investigator for a large state agency in Illinois. Our cars had gun safes or pistol boxes fitted to our cars. My OGV had the safe in the trunk but one of my cars had the safe under the front passenger seat. Ray O’Harens had pistol boxes for sale if I remember correctly. But almost all cop shops sell them in various styles. Do not get the key lock get the button lock. The box I used held a Glock and 2 magazines. Good luck.

Thanks Argus. Similar line of work but not issued anything, I have no doubt that one of the Tampa area cop shops has something that will work. I'll definitely look into Ray O'Harens. Good tip on the button lock!

There is very little cabin space in the vantage for true safe for a average size firearm, especially a bolt in one.

I pocket carry a small frame LCR2 that will fit in the console if needed but it is not lockable so it's not really safe.

I switch between a sig P365 and Ruger LCP and defaultto the LCP when driving thy Aston.
James Bond has the slide out tray in thy glove box but I haven't reached out to Q Branch to see if they offer that option for civilians

If that glove box was big enough for a slide out that fits a full sized P99 and a defibrillator, I'd be all over it....

My weapon is always concealed on my person. I don't place it in any carrier in the car. If I am going somewhere where a conceal is not allowed I do not bring it with me. I'd rather be without it than hiding it in the car.

Behind the rear driver seat, a little compartment for some tools will fit a P365 with a holster.
