Vantage V8 - False “Key in ignition” error message
Vantage V8 - False “Key in ignition” error message
My 2012 has a bizarre issue which even my dealer was stumped over during a recent service:
I get “key in ignition” and the triangle warning symbol when the glass key is removed. The key doesn’t stick, it goes in and out perfectly.
The big problem is that because it thinks the key is in the dock, it won’t allow me to lock the car with the fob.
We thought it could be the ignition dock, so I took it out, completely greased it but that didn’t fix it.
during its recent annual service, they actually swapped out the ignition dock and same problem.
I had one instance where it started working again for a couple of days when I went on a 200 mile drive, making me think it might be a power/battery issue, but during the subsequent service they tested the battery and it’s perfect, I not being a year old.
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? The dealer is at a bit of a loss.
