Navigation Update - Volvo 31427789 1520
2009 V8V Same Nav Problem as Fenflame
Like everyone I don't even care about the nav system anymore, however, the nav screen opens and stays on asking for an update disk, and won't close when using the Back button. After the car is turned off, the screen goes down about 3 minutes later but I'm not sure if the screen is staying on. I've started to have battery drainage issues, completely dead in three days even with a new battery. However I'm not sure if it's the nav system or the tracker/alarm system that's causing the parasitic drain (different common issue it appears).
At any rate, I bought this disk from username- linsterr on eBay I'm betting that's the same seller lol.
I fear now that I'm halfway through a bad update and will need to reset, so even if I get the correct/OEM disks I'll have problems as Fenflame said in a previous post.
Does anyone have any solutions? EJRapide it appears you went through this as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Please feel free to PM me! FWIW, I'm in New Mexico.
FWIW...I just recently found out that many updates for software and upgrades for cars have an "expiration date" meaning that the upgrade won't work beyond a specific date.
I recently had trouble with a software upgrade on one of my BMWs... the upgrade refused to finish and would hang up...I changed the date on my car, and voila, the upgrade ran perfectly!
perhaps because the upgrade is so old, thy car with a 2024 date won't recognize it...
not sure how to change the date on the Aston but with my BMW is was a simple menu on the time and date c set up.
perhaps worth a try. I know when I updated my nav using thy volvo discs it was only a year or so after the date on thy disc.

Hi all, I think I did the exact same thing Fenflame did, I tried to use a bootleg update disk from eBay to update my nav system. It starts to read/update it but then quits and says "unable to read disc". I've had my 2009 V8V since 2010, never had a nav disk, never had a problem until about 6 months ago when the nav system kept asking for an update and automatically turning on.

Please feel free to PM me! FWIW, I'm in New Mexico.I tried a couple discs (including the scammer from ebay) until I found one that would fully update to the 31477289 1520 version (the latest available for my 2010 Rapide).
Yep.. same scammer on ebay. What a waste of money and time, I did get my money back but should have left it alone instead of messing with it. Now I can't find anywhere to sell me a orginal 31477289 1520 disc
where did tou find the disc
