8” Kicker subwoofer fitted in stock box

So after a bit of research. Not much I could come up with other than the stock 8” is dvc 2 ohm. And others have replaced theirs with shallow subs. I measured the stock box depth and got about 5” mounting depth. Came across a kicker comp r full size 8” dvc 2 ohm. And it fits. Only issue is the original screw holes don’t line up. A dilemma I’m thinking of how to address now. Pics added for reference and to help anyone looking to upgrade. I’d definitely hits a lot harder than stock! Very pleased with it. And shout out to kicker for producing high quality speakers. Picked this up new on sale for $85. Unsoldered the old connection and plugged right in to the new sub. Great upgrade. Now to figure out how I will screw it in.

I thought about the rivnuts. But I’m concerned if they come loose/stripped from the box. Then I have a screw that I’ll have to cut out. (Assuming for whatever reason I’ll need to remove the sub).

Could you drill into the kicker sub rim to match the trim hole pattern?

That’s a great idea. My buddy also mentioned that this morning while I was discussing it with him. Genius. Why didn’t I think of that moment 🤔. I made a template using the cardboard from the new sub and the rim of the original sub. Will be fitting it tomorrow
