Hello everyone,

This morning shortly after leaving home to work in my 07 V8 Vantage 6-speed I noticed a small amount of "smoke" coming from my front grill, but it looked like it may have been exhaust coming out from the car in front of me at the light so I did not show any concern but then as I continued on my drive I noticed my power steering no longer worked... Does anyone know what the issue may be? New fluid? A new pump any suggestions? Safe to drive in terms of doing any damage to the car?

Thank you all for any insight here! Also if anyone knows a good mechanic in Columbus Ohio to service a V8 Vantage or a place to buy V8 Vantage parts please let me know .

 

The PS Steering system is not exotic, it's a Ford system. The pump is the same as Ford cars with a different mounting bracket. The pump is also on some Land Rovers. Rebuilt units are available as well as rebuild kits. Guessing you have a fluid leak, unit went dry and burnt up.
