I went for a ride in a2021 Vantage yesterday. Seemed to be a great car and the automatic transmission was ok. But to me the engine did not sound as good as the 4.3 or 4.7 engined cars. I would still consider a new Vantage but the sound was noticeably different.

 

Did the car have the dual exhaust? That does make a difference, as does the drive mode you are in.

 

The new Vantage has a twin turbo engine so it is going to sound very different than a non-turbo engine. They sound quite good with the valves open in track mode. Fairly quiet in sport and even sport plus modes. Popular mod is to delete the secondary cats for a bit more sound.

 

Plus you can remove the secondary catalyst very easily which is not monitored and they sound very nasty and possible ticket time.

 

It was in sport mode. I did not realize how the turbos silenced the engine. Still a nice car but different than the previous generation cars.

 

You'll find the same with DB11 V12 vs the previous V12's. Still sound pretty wicked, but not as wicked. Nothing decat's and/or exhaust cannot fix mostly.

 

Unfortunately turbo engines never sound the same as NA engines. But 100 % better that all electric!
