How many of you with pre-2018 Vantage had your windshields tinted?

I have a 2015 Vantage GT and was interested in having my windshield tinted to save the leather dash from peeling. I normally tint all my windshields with the lightest tint possible. I got a phone call from my installer who said that the windshield is too close to the dash, no tolerance in between and even with their thinnest tool they’re unable to tint the windshield. Neither of us want to risk damage to the leather dash so I’m passing on it. I’m just curious if any of you have experienced the same issue?

My 2016 Vanquish has clear ceramic tint on the windshield (installed by the previous owner). Full coverage right to the dash.

Definitely find another tint guy. There is room and the lower part of the Dash is plastic not leather. The biggest issue is how much fluid they use as it floods behind the dash and causes issues with condensation. But just like others have said it can be done by a qualified person.

I had my local tint shop install it on my 2009 V8V, the good infrared blocking film. XR Plus, I think it was. Went darker than legal, 35% VLT. But I live in Georgia and the cops never pulled me over for it. I have the same tint on my Jaguar XJL daily. It helps keep the heat off the dash, and the installers had no trouble putting it on. I plan to do the same to my Vanquish soon.

Had my Vantage windshield done at Tintmax, clear ceramic UV film. Had no problem getting all the way down to the dashboard.

As mentioned earlier, only issue is some water behind the dash.
