New DB11 owner question

How's it going all... Soon to be owner of a beautiful 2017 DB11. I've looked all over the forum for an answer on this but haven't been able to find a definite yet.

The dealer wasn't sure (not an AM dealer) if the AMR upgrade was done to the car prior to my purchase so I logged in to technicalhub.astonmartin.com and did a VIN lookup of options/features (photo below). Under "AMR Pack" it does list "AMR Power Upgrade (Service) (AMR0)" but unsure if that actually means the upgrade was done. The engine label is still the original DB11 plate, it wasn't changed over to the AMR plate (but I know that sometimes that wasn't done, either from customer preference or lack of inventory). Also, there's another title "After Production Changes" where it lists "Keep Sports Mode/AMshift (APC5)" so wondering if that means it will restart in sport or sport+ after turning the ignition off (I don't take delivery until next week).

Another thing I can say is the tach's redline starts at 7000 RPM in GT mode, I wasn't sure if non-AMR upgraded cars showed a 6000 or 6500 RPM redline in GT mode. My main desire for the AMR upgrade is the louder exhaust, but I do know the car is supposed to drive much more distinguished between modes with this upgrade as well.

TIA for any help!!

Good question. I have a 2017 DB11 (V12) and it did not have the AMR upgrade when I purchased it. I took it to the dealer and had it done later on, however. When I look up my own VIN I get the same results that you do -- "AMR Pack AMR Power Upgrade (Service) (AMR0)". I'm not sure if the Aston Dealer updates things or no so probably not much help.

Have you thought about getting a tune w/ VelocityAP and swapping out the downpipes? Give you are looking for louder exhaust it may scratch the itch more than the ARM upgrade. I did notice a better exhaust sound with some more pronounced pops when revving or downshifting, but the VAP downpipes and tunes will go much further...plus you take it from 600BHP to about 750BHP.

Thank you... I confirmed the car does have the tune. I wanted to stay away from aftermarket performance mods for a few reasons, but mostly because the gear box isn't the same as in the DBS. I know the engine can handle more power, but I'd be worried about the transmission for long term reliability. All I was really concerned about was having louder exhaust, and the AMR upgrade adds just enough.
