Having issues with my Foxwell NT530 scanner (or maybe I just don't know how to use it). The scanner only powers off when it is plugged into the ODB2 but the engine and accessory are on. When I attempt to turn on the accessory (#2), or ignition the screen goes blank and turns off.

Hoping there's some help out there for this. Much appreciated.

Not sure what year AM you are attempting to connect to. Some models have 2 ports

 

Trying to connect to drivers side port to read engine codes. It’s a 2012 V12 Vantage

 

My foxwell works great. Plug it in with engine off, turn key to accessory, read codes...

 

Think I figured it out. The unit seems to work with the USB plugged into some power source in addition to the ODB2. So perhaps the issue is that it cannot hold a charge….

 

for what its worth - I have the NT530 and it obtains its power from the ODB2 port. Never experienced the issue you are seeing, and have used it on 3 different makes of vehicles.
