Please read my post carefully. The car recognizes the key and sets off the alarm when I open the door!!
and for the big news, I just figured out you do not a key at all. Apparently a psychic reader just unlocks the door. You need no key all, just press the handle and voila, the car unlocks and sets off the lock. Thinking of parking on a dark alley and maybe the car will be gone by morning!
Well today I got $panked by the dealer. My car was picked up two days ago because the drivers door would not stay locked. You could enter the car with no key present which would set off the alarm. So being a fool, I sent the car up with two boxes of mobil1 oil and an Aston Oil filter and asked them to change the oil while they had the car in for fixing their over site. For those not keeping track, this is the 9th time the car has been picked up by Summit since June 8,2023 for electrical issues.
I absolutely did not expect a free oil change. My local Indy shop specializing in jags and rovers charges me 70.00 labor when I supply oil and filter for the 2019 aston. Summits price today, labor no parts, $728.00. That was a gut punch. I paid the bill but felt like a complete dumb *** for not asking prior. I thought maybe there might be some goodwill as the last 4 round trips were due to them not getting the car back together correctly.
well lesson learned for today. I am sure tomorrow will bring another life lesson.

Labor on oil change [not positive about current gen] on VH platform is 1 hour at $240 or whatever their rate is. Are you positive they didn't do a fluid service at the same time?
Text from service manager in “
We charge two hours for the oil changes and safety inspection. - Jordan“
there was no f-ing safety inspection. Third time they have had the car in April and each work order states whatever they fixed and “completed multi point inspection.” Nope I am just stupid and now pissed. Never once have I lost my cool with the service folks. Today I am divorcing them. The honeymoon is over

The extra hour is the norm for AM service for doing nothing but pad the bill. Part of the reason so many owners have been turned off by AM. If you're a billionaire you don't blink but if you care at all about fairness, it becomes a very sticky sticking point for those they bilk.
How does 2 hours still end up at $728? They charge $100 to dispose of your oil?
Two hours labor , 12.51 for drain plug seal which my Indy does n/c and 65.00 for opening a service ticket. It was already there to fix their screw up. Yes I am now bitter. Moving on. There will be better days
You've demonstrated extreme patience and good humor thru this whole ordeal. Above and beyond.
I prescribe a spoonful of sugar, or a large bourbon on the rocks.
A dealer in my area quoted $1100 for an oil change on my DB11 V12; almost $1000 if it was the V8. I just finished the oil change (DIY), the second one since I've owned it...and I did my own "safety inspection".
Just glad it's not a Veyron - $22,000 for an oil change.
I could start a new thread or not post the next chapter or never mention but why the heck not. This poor cursed Vantage must have been marked with a hidden VIN 666. The day after the car came back to me after its 8th trip to the shop in ten months, I was out with my wife on a very windy day in central Pennsylvania. We had stopped for lunch and as she opened the door, the wind gusted to a high velocity ripping the door open with enough force to cause the door to interfere with fender tearing a tiny quarter inch in the doors aluminum edge. No local body shop would touch the car and it was recommended I ship it to the closest AM certified shop. Now for fun, I am posting pics for those interested to guess at my estimate. Yes Insurance has approved the quote but it is staggering.
