Porsche 992.1 manual transmission

Can anyone comment on how the 911 GTS or GT3 drive compared to an old V8V manual?

Is it overall an easier car to steer and drive? I find the clutch in my V8V a little high but the hydraulic steering gets some used to after driving many of the newer vehicles. Porsche doesn’t sound great but I’m asking about the driving dynamics vs the Aston.

I rented a 992 base model last time I was in LA and drove all through the Malibu canyons for hours.

It’s of course much “easier” to drive than the VH Aston. Just feels like any other modern car really. Much more BMW than Aston.

I think my VH MY18 felt quite a bit quicker (this was a base model 992 remember) and the comparison in driver engagement, well, there is no comparison. The VH is just an event. The 992 is a nice modern car. Also the 992 sounded a lot like a vacuum cleaner. I think that was the worst part of the car overall.

So overall, they aren’t really the same thing. The 992 is a very nice modern car. Much easier to drive and will get you from A to B in fast efficient manner.

Hope this helps in some way. Of course my VH is somewhat different to the older models and the 992 base is of course not a GTS.

It just comes down to what you want in car I guess. The 992 would be a nice daily driver. The VH is a weekend event.

The reverse gear on the Porsche isn't as big and less likely to stall than the Aston. Hill assist on Porsche works great. Other than that, @Davil summed it up.
