V12VS spotty satelite radio

Hello everyone,

I've been having some issues with my 2015 V12VS sattelite radio getting really spotty signal. Specifically, I can be driving north with great signal, but on the same roadway going south, it cuts in and out consistently. I have the workshop manuals, but have not been able to find anything that might help. My understanding is that the antenna is in the windshield, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue and found a way around it.

Help me forum brain trust, you're my only hope! (Seriously, no one else seems to know what to do.)

Antenna module is mounted on an aluminum plate at the rear hatch with access by removing the carpet panel above the latch. You can call Sirius and they may have some diagnostic support.
Does it have a rear wing fitted that may be faulting the signal?

Try the streaming app. I have found it has better sound quality.

Fantastic, thank you! I was way off. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

I'm wondering if I didn't realize what it was and put sound deadening material over it. I'll check when I'm back home.

Yeah, I thought about that as a back up. Just need to get the app set up with my favorites, I guess.

I have the lifetime subscription and pay a few bucks each month for the app... use it in all my cars... definitely better sounds quality because the data is not compressed

I find the trees on the hwy can impact the signal. I have to switch lanes for a better satellite signal.

When I did the Sirius retrofit on our 07 I put the antenna in the factory location in the boot lid. It behaves exactly the same as described in this thread where it cuts out with minor tree obstruction on the road. But then so does our 18 LR D5.

I used my VIN number and the Radio ID and contacted Sirius. Mine ask had the lifetime service and our was still in the name of the original owner. They had me get a letter from the previous owner to give permission to transfer... that was 7 years ago. It's still on my account as lifetime subscriber...

Ask them the name on the account... then search for them.

Hit the nail on the head. A couple of years ago I was chasing an annoying vibration in the rear of the vehicle and didn't realize I had placed the sound insulation between the receiver and the trunk lid. Now that I've removed it the satellite radio is working perfectly. Thanks again!
