My crystal key will lock and unlock the doors and the trunk, but it won't start the car.
When I insert the key into the starter I get "key error".
My valet key works just fine.
I've had the crystal key reprogrammed, but it did not resolve the issue.

Has anyone had this problem?

 

2 keys required for programming, and it's 2 functions, chip in key for starting and the board is for RF. Best guess is chip is bad or it could be possible missing from repairs.

 

Since the crystal key just stopped working, I suspect it's the chip.
I'll bring in both keys and have the chip from the valet key put into the crystal key.

Took about a week or so....don't use UPS (230 bucks from the DC area to the UK). I used USPS and it was like 65 $ or so......good service. About 1200 dollars as I recall. Stealership wanted 2700 DOLLARS. Plu-ease.....
