VH Vantage, what do you wish they did differently?
How did you do that?
I think you just have to press and hold the nav button and it will not come up anymore unless you have a backup camera. My 2014 was only open for backup, my 2012 never opens since either has no camera
Funny thing, I always have to push the "Nav" button when I start the car, to clear the safety message on the screen.
The car used to be in the "Nav" mode by default, no idea what I changed there...

i'm currently troubleshooting loss of infotainment and can't fathom why they distributed all the functions that are available in a double DIN chassis (even in 2009) into 17 different modules buried like pirate treasure in every inaccessible spot in the car, where one fails they all stop working. Regardless of Volvo and BMW doing it, WTF?! its like a Victorian vision of what the future of coachworks would be in 100 years with that new-fangled electricity...
yeah i wish they had made a different choice with the infotainment system

About a decade ago I wrote Aston Martin when Tesla was first getting popular. The initial Tesla buyers bought because of the cool large screen that was revolutionary for its time. The technology existed (still exists) to have the entire ski slope be a digital panel that could have been configured to be all or partial screen and possibly be digitally configured to appear any desired finish. The next generation interior was a convoluted mess with the I-Pad looking screen appearing like cheap plastic (DB11 also), only recently fixed with the 2025. The 2025 interior looks very Porshe-like, on the fence on that one.
Aston V8s -- all of them -- use a cross-plane crank. I'm glad they do. They're significantly smoother than a flat-plane crank V8 (which runs like two inline-4s, including the vibrations), and IMO a cross-plane crank V8 sounds much better than a flat-crank V8. No Ferrari V8, not even a 355, sounds as good as the 4.3/4.7 Aston V8!

Some find fault with the emergency brake, and it can be finicky. But just another example of “old school” to be thankful for. My daughter drives a 2010 VW Passat with an e-brake.....you would not believe the b.s. necessary to simply change out the rear pads because of the electronic control of the calipers. Just about everything on the VW is a headache compared to working on a VH Aston (except plugs and coils). And of course everything under the VW hood has the potential for a plastic component to fail.
I would also list the jack points on the Aston as a headache. And the necessity to replace an entire head or tail light rather than individual failed components.
