I've replaced mine for similar reason, bought mine from astonbits few years ago for about $3k with shipping & had my local windshield guy replaced it, out the door 3.5k
I did the same thing, and at the time I thought it was insanely expensive for a windshield, but seeing the other quotes in this thread it seems this was the deal!
Just pickup my Vantage today.I had a service done at the same time. I submitted the Labor bill from the dealer for the install.
I should get my refund from Hagerty next week. They did a very clean job with no damage.
I think it's too big to try and fix it, right?
I am insured through State Farm and my deductible is $1,000, which I guess is not too bad when I read the price for a new windshield...
Just asked the dealer in Walnut Creek for an estimate, hopefully I hear back from them tomorrow.
Do they replace the windshield seal as well when they install a new windshield?
To those who replaced their windshields "on their own", what is an insurance thing, or the dealer being too far?

Are there any "tricks" to having a local windshield guy replacing the windshield?
Or that's like any other windshield replacement?
I am getting estimates for around 9k$, out of which the part itself is 8 to 8.5k and the labor $500...

Is your insurance not covering the full cost for you? I looked into this with my insurance guy when I had my 07, it had a repaired chip that looked like it was on the verge of spreading and knew that it would be pricey to replace the windshield (at the time I was thinking $3k though). He confirmed that my comprehensive insurance would cover whatever the replacement cost was, at least for my policy.
Not to hijack the thread - but does anyone have experience with windshield film/PPF? Does that make much of a difference at all for protecting the windshield? I had some installed on my car last year to use up a deposit I had with a local company but not sure how much protection you really get with it.
