Misfire Correction - Clear old values without AMDS?

Hey all,
Just had my clutch and flywheel replaced, and now getting misfire faults. After some googling, I guess it’s a common occurrence.

Can you clear the previously stored values for misfire correction without AMDS? Or can you just do the rundown procedure and it will just learn new values?

Thanks!

Car is a 15’ V8VGT w/ a manual.

Unfortunately they have to be cleared with AMDS, 2010.50 MY onwards. Earlier cars with a battery disconnect. A dealer should clear them and do a re-learn to verify you won't have false misfire codes.

That's what I was afraid of. I talked to the dealer and they want 2hrs of labor - which is nuts because as a former tech, we only got .5hrs for basically the same procedure. So if anyone knows where I can download AMDS, please DM me lol

Wow, right now one would think a dealer would want to welcome you in, not insult you to never ask a question again.

I'm really trying to have a good relationship with my dealer, but their pricing is kinda unjustified. Not trying to be cheap, but as a flat-rate tech for like ten years, you kind of know what's bull**** and not.

did you get your clutch and flywheel installed at the dealer? they should have cleared the misfires...

if not, then you'll likely need someone with AMDS...

Part of the cost of ownership... often the number of hours also includes administrstive/paperwork and other services... dealers have gotten very creative with charges and how to calculate service hours... especially if the "official book hours" give them the hours

My indy shop did the work, and honestly they have been a blessing to work with.

Cleared corrections is easy, the learn could be involved but you definitely need an AMDS for the clearing.

Check with Foxwell. I believe my NT530 will clear misfire codes.

I really gotta find an AMDS to have at home - that looks much easier than BMW's ISTA.

It will clear the misfire codes, but not the calibration values with 2010.5 and up cars
Just as an update, I had the dealership do it, and the car runs great now.
