05 DB9 fuel pump assemblies

Need some advice, the PO did some questionable repairs on the fuel pump assemblies on my 05 DB9 Vin A01368

Eurospares is showing part number 4G43-9B260-AC (R) and 4G43-9B260-BC (L)

Any cross compability or how to source them?

The 07 and prior fuel pumps seem to be impossible to order. 08 and later are available, but you'll have to replace the flex hose that connects the fuel pump to the filter with a compatible union. The other option is to also replace the fuel filter and hose that connect to the tank exit fitting, but you'll need to modify the filter mounting strap or order the correct one that fits the tabs on the later filter.

I recognize those repairs & resemble them

Seriously, I rebuilt my fuel pumps this winter and I was in and out of the tanks about 6 times. All my fault, but I learned a lot. You are seeing the results of someone breaking the plastic clips that hold the one way valve and the pressure regulator in place and the challenge of finding the right flex hose and connectors. I was able to source the flex hose (and intank rubber fuel line and connectors) but all I ended up using from the 2005 Jag XKR fuel pumps was the one way valve and the pressure regulator. The challenge is getting the secondary pickup to connect. The Jag uses a different arrangement. You also have to drill out the plastic fitting but this wasn't an issue. I had to reuse the small fitting at the end of the flex hose (that is messed up on yours). I became well versed in using my foxwell to measure the pressures and reset my warning lights when a hose connection failed. The large hand pump I bought for syphoning gas came in super handy.

I feel your pain. Both of my pumps were pretty unhealthy. One unable to maintain fuel pressure at idle and the other bleeding off fuel and causing starvation under load. It took a while to figure out how it all worked and finally to accept that I had to replace both pumps.

I seriously considered the XKR pump, but it was the same challenge as using the 08 pump with respect to the output hose to filter union. Also since the XKR is supercharged, the regulator/bypass-valve is 80 PSI vs 70PSI. Is this really an issue? Maybe not. The regulator really only prevents vapor lock by keeping fuel under pressure in the fuel rail and operates as a safety device in case of over-pressure. As it turns out the OE XKR pump and the OE 08 DB9 pump are pretty close in price so I just modified the 08 DB9 pump.
