I had the opportunity to drive a volante in Newport RI this weekend. The finish and detailing on this vehicle were simply amazing. I was blown away by the torque even in the early rev cycle. It seems to be one of the finest engineered automobiles in the world. Having spent only a short time with the car, I would like to hear some feedback from those who own one or have owned one. I am seriously considering a purchase but have little experience with AMs. My last 5 cars have been porsches; turbo and non as well as an AMG MB. Any pros and cons would be appreciated. Please give it to me straight.

 

Spend some time on the AMOC forums to get the story from many owners directly. The AM forum here is not very active. There are some great threads going on right now over there all about the pros/cons of DB9 vs AMV8 and much reading to do that will help you.

DB9 is an amazing car. I happen to like the coupe better from a styling perspective and there are relatively minor performance differences but I also love the allure of the convertible. As an owner, I could not be happier. My last few cars were porsches but this is the best car I've ever owned.

 

My dad loves his DB9 Volante, said it is a huge step up from the 2003 DV9 Vantage Volante he had.

 

The DB9 is amazing. Best cab on the market in my eyes.
