It's a good car, not great. When I drove it, I could not get over the fact that torque is pretty wimpy for a car that pretty and the price is about 30K too high for what it is. Dealer said the "extra" 30K was for the badge and key fob I currently drive a 600HP Porsche TT...

i'm pretty sure a dealer would tell you your extra 30k is in the name and key fob but even so...you actually believe the car is 30k overpriced? please explain how you think a hand built AM should be in the same range as a mercedes cl, or m6, etc...

I happen to know the dealer, so that was said in a little debate we were having. Thanks for allowing me to stay in my Turbo

M6?

I like my Aston a lot but if it were my only sports car, I would be disappointed. The car is not very sporty yet, not smooth enough to be a luxury car. It's a sport/luxury mix that is probably perfect for some people, just not for me. The Ferrari is about a 1000x more exciting to drive. Lucky for me, I have a Ferrari so I don't expect a whole lot from the Aston. Don't get me wrong, it sticks well and drives good. It just doesn't FEEL that fast. As long it's reliable (so far), is comfortable (not bad), and is stylish (off the charts!) - I'm happy.

The car looks SO DAMN GOOD, it makes up for a lot.

consider a 2005 DB9. $130k 450hp same weight and styling as AM V8, already taken the depcreation hit. I was having the same thoughts, now just trying to find a 6 speed DB9.

In the interest of preserving my license, I too will probably trade my GT3 for either a DB9 or a V8V someday, and I have to say that a 1-2 year old DB9 looks like an incredible 'value.' Interior and exterior looks as great if not better than the V8V with what is probably the best exhaust note on the planet. I've heard bad things about the early flappy-paddles, but a 6-speed should fit the bill nicely.

Anyone looking to sell their 6-speed DB9 or V8V in a year or two do let me know...

Need to make a baby: want to merge my E55 wagon with M3 cab and get just one offspring. Would the AMV8 be it?

Windgirl - Interesting combo - we have a similar thing in my household - I have a AMV8 and other half just traded her M3 Cab for a Cayman S. She loves driving both cars - P car has lots of trunk room - she likes it more than the M3. We also have a Toyota 4 Runner - the people mover.

just does something when you get in and drive. everything about this car seems well executed, I would say that my only gripe is the lack of power,
We are working on a few go fast goodies that should be ready by the time SEMA rolls around (80-100 extra hp) with app 500hp on tap this may be the perfect car...

Stay tuned
so what is going on with this? any updates you can share?

THE DB9 is a bargain, 2006 are going for 140's and MSRP is close to 190K. I like the compact design of th V8 Vantage, I was able to inspect the interior up close and personal and it was very well made, the clutch was somewhat stiff but overall it was a great car. I think it's the perfect daily driver.
