Car looks amazing, but considering it's going to be a regular production car, I'd wait a couple years until the price settles and you can buy one used for a fraction of the cost

I think Audi has some kind of rule that dealers are not
allowed to mark up over MSRP, At least my Audi dealer hinted that, they have sold a couple R8 for sticker he said.

yeah I've heard that the rare dealer is charging over MSRP. I think it would be quite foolish to pay this but who knows? They claim that there will only be 300 of these imported to the US per year so there may be usurious prices for some time. My dealer will not charge over MSRP but my order has not even gone to build and I have been on the list for just over a year.

I personally hope that the over MSRP trend stays because it makes my car seem like a great idea. However, I am getting one because I like Audis, love the styling and I'm going to drive the stink out of my R8.

But to answer the question I've seen two sell for over - one was $40K over brand new and one was $50K over pre-owned. These prices are roughly equivalent if one lives in a state where there is no sales tax on private party sales.

Good luck I hope you find one. Be sure and post pics so I can drool.

Hey Tonny-

I'm in North Scottsdale too. I'm with you on the S5. In fact my Phaeton lease is up at the beginning of December and I still don't have an ETA on my R8. So I went ahead and ordered one of the first S5's coming in to tide me over until the R8 gets here.

I drove the Grey/Red demo they have and it's a sweet car. Make an appointment to drive it and you'll likely be impressed. If you're going to pull the trigger and you don't already have a salesman go talk to Steve B. at the dealership. He's a good guy.

cheers!

Hey Joel,
I work with Brad B over there, I drove the Grey S5 last week and got totally sold on it. I have had Corvettes and
other American Iron before but I just loved the way the S5 drives. I'm going with a Sprint Blue one, want to stand out in the crowd around here. Let me know when you get your
R8 , would love to go for a ride in it.

R8 over sticker in Scottsdale

Our local dealer has a Grey/Black R8 with around 900 miles for $185K which is $50K over MSRP. Beautiful machine.
