Just a chip with the 2.0t should give over 250chp. I dyno'ed 255 this summer in the heat with a chip and k&n.

Well, if it's going to be your business's debut into the Audi world, then I vote for a supercharger for the 4.2L V8. Why? Because you can cover a number of models, as Audi's stuck that motor into just about everything over the past decade, and there is no other alternative. What better way to make a name for yourself? Just don't turn into Motodyne (search AudiWorld for "motodyne" to see what I'm talking about). MTM has some supercharger options, but their prices are out of the range of most.

The 2.0T is a growing market, but GIAC, APR, VAST, Revo, etc. have a good head start and are showing some good numbers in the 400bhp range on an otherwise stock motor.

Now, to the B5 S4... Tons of options and levels of turbo swaps. The K04 route is tried and true, and no less than a half-dozen companies offer "stage 3" kits with OEM RSK04 turbos. Hybrids (K04 housing with RS6 or similar wheels) have been played around with, and a handful of tuners offer fueling/software packages for those setups. ASP has the market cornered with will GT-turbo setups (GT25r, 28rs, etc.), while VAST is working on their own kit as well.

The flavor of the month seems to be the TiAL GT turbos that are compatible with the stock manifolds. Their main competitor at the moment is the RS6 turbo option. If you can come in with a product that maintains daily drivability with early torque/boost onset, that bolts up to stock manifolds, produces numbers near a full GT kit, and comes in at a reasonable cost -- then you're getting somewhere.

While B5 S4s are coming down in price (too quickly for my taste) and thus falling into the hands of the more tuner-friendly demographic, the 2.0T is more exciting because it's new. The 4.2L V8 crowd isn't necessarily comprised with the most the mod-hungry owners, but the aftermarket for that motor is very slim at the moment, and those that want to mod are ready to bite.

For a business project, I'd go with the 2.0T over the B5. The B5 market is already saturated with a bunch of big players. Although, the 2.0T is nearly there too.

There is definitely an opportunity with the 4.2

So far, all the European B8 chassis press does not mention the 2.0T, instead the Euro-spec is switching to a 1.8T engine. In my mind, this calls into doubt whether or not the 2.0T will even be offered in the US in a year.

this is all very good information. We've been tuning performance imports (mainly, 3000GT VR4, Supra, EVO, 350Z etc) you get the point, higher end japanese imports with a sprinkling of Audi A4, Porsche and BMW. We have a Dynojet 424X AWD dyno in house, and it been used by various tuners, and magazines due to our facilities being clean/neat and our data being acurate. We are certified by AEM, and have tuning in house of various *flash* programs as well. We are trying to redefine our business model, and feel that Audi represents a vehicle that is very well built/engineered, and I feel we can do a good job here. I'm willing to even dive as deep as to get my wife out of her Honda Odyssey and into a Q7, and me out of my 360 modena and LS430, and into an A4 or S4, I just want to be sure of what we can be able to offer to the Audi community, and what opportunities are out there for us.

I think the b5 s4 is the way to go, yes the styling and interior may be a bit dated compare to a new b7 but if you can find a lo mileage and well taken care s4 you cannot go wrong, especially when the bi turbo kicks in.

Would any 6speed members be able to get a discount for some runs on the dyno?
