right. and it rides much better than a 911 in day to day use. anyone saying wait for the V10 is not being realistic. indeed power is not everything. one will always want more anyway.

Dealers don't know, pure speculation. Of course they will tell you anything you want to hear...

Originally, yes Audi was supposed to release the V-10 version shortly after the V8, but then I believe they realized it would do the same effect to the S4 when the RS4 came out. They are holding off on it at this moment. Im sure it will go into production, but not in the immediate future. Your best bet is to try to find a V8. Its a great all around vehicle. I did a drive to San Diego and back and was very impressed by the handling, comfortability and practicality of it. I was going to an event down there and needed to bring supplies for our booth...well, our truck ran out of room and I ended up packing the storage bay with about 80 shirts, plus some soda and water.

I would never pay over sticker for any car. In fact, I passed on a gt3rs that they were going to give me for 12k over, **** that. They sold it on ebay to a real 'enthusiast ' I'll bet.
Having said that, they do sound mean on the track. When I was at the glen a guy from a dealership had a white one. It sounded good in front of me for about ten seconds until I passed him.

Thanks for the info Verone. Waiting for the V-10, unless Arling can convince me otherwise. The R8 looks beautiful...saw at my dealer already. But worried the V-8 will be too similar to the cars I already have...will have to wait for a ride first to judge.

I could not agree more! I don't see a need for more HP in a car that I can't drive to its capability here in the US. I certainly don't feel I need to pay $25K to $35K more than I did just to tell everybody I have the V-10. Of all the performance cars I have owned, the R8 is simply the best in every measurable area. I could not be more pleased. As a daily driver I am comfortable, I have a smile on my face every second I am in the R8, I get reasonable fuel mileage, and the car is a magnet for admiration. Owning the R8 validates all the years of hard work and constantly reminds me that I need to keep working so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor.
