Questions about S5

I am currently in the market for a new car and one of my top choices is the S5 but i have a few questions:

1. Can you get the S5 with XM radio and/or ipod adaptor?
2. Is there really a 6 month wait to get one?
3. I am looking to get automatic since i have to sit in traffic often. How is the Audi tiptronic transmission?

Thanks

1. Sirius and full ipod interface are available w/ Nav package.

2. depends where you go. I know several dealers in so cal who have them on the floor ready to go. A lot of people are trying to ask over sticker, but you can easily get one at sticker or below with a little digging around.

3. I've never driven an audi 6-speed, but I have owned 2 tiptronics. The tiptronic in the non-S cars is best left in full-auto mode. It's definitely not as fast as the Porsche version. I don't know if they put the same tranny in the S cars or if they speed it up at all.

If you find one on the lot (especially if you are willing to pay over sticker) then no. However, if you order one you will be waiting. A friend of mine ordered an S5 last fall. Recently, the dealer said that there are a ridiculous number of unfilled orders and that he would likely have to wait for a MY09 car. If you look at some of the Audi specific sites there is a bunch of information on the supply problems. My friend ended up canceling his order.

Get an M3. It's a better driving car (S5 does look nice both on the inside and outside).

Thanks for your response.
Im going down to my dealer this week and see how long the waiting list is. So I guess that means the 7g stronic is available for order. M3 is a nice ride but I prefer somthing that is more on the comfy side.

Drive the E92 first please. I have driven both and had/have an S5 on order. The M is every bit as comfortable and I actually preferred the M's driver position. It is also a jekyl/hyde car. It can be very civil in lower rpm's and then a freakin beast when you want it.

I'm making the switch to an M3 coupe, screw audi and their horrible launch. What a cluster fudge...

The only thing is that the M3 optioned how i want it is 70K. I would love to have the M3 but i dont think it is worth 15K more.

I test drove the IS-F and i was actually quite impressed with it. The interior/exterior is kinda boring but it drove well. It had a good amount of power and a pretty good feel.

I guess, I optioned mine out and ended up just over $60k and actually under with the $1500 off msrp. But yeah, completely loaded IS-F is only $61500, too bad they couldn't come up with the 3rd pedal option.

I just got my S5 deposit back tonight, there was no way I could have been happy with the audi after driving an M3, the car was just that good to me.

I was wondering how that was going. A shame it didn't work out for you. Did the dealership get back to you with a build date or you just decided to pull the plug?

I just pulled the plug. April 14 is the next allocation date and I probably would have got a build date then. The sales manager is going to let me know if mine would have been allocated.
