I heard there is a black one at Keyes Audi in Van Nuys for MSRP.

Should these command a markup? Sure I can see it.

Does it deserve 50k markup? No freakin way!

edit:

just went on Autotrader, seems most of them have been reduced

Great info, thanks guys...Dealers are still calling me saying they've lowered their premium from 25 to 15 thousand, i said no, now there's a reason for it.

all this commentary about markups is silly... especially the poster suggesting you will get laughed at if you offer MSRP... this is not an exotic Ferrari or limited production car... sure they are very nice, but there are plenty of them and you should wait and pay MSRP... AOA frowns pretty heavy on the west coast dealers adding the premiums anyway...

there tends to be a lot of buzz/noise about premiums but I doubt that many dealers are getting them in this economy... I would be patient and buy the car at sticker... its an awesome car, but its not like there are a hundred of them

Only 300 allotted for US per year. That may change due to economic factors, but that is what was allotted.

If true, this is less than I thought. But then again, I heard this when I was on the list for a 7-GT3, then there seemed to be more, and more, and more...and 300 turned into 400, etc.

Dont get me wrong, if I wanted to spend $150k (or whatever) on a sports car right now, its the one I would probably buy... I just dont think that it is exclusive enough to justify much, if any premium...

I agree with most of what you are saying. The bottom line is how bad you want something. I spent 1000k on a Hockey ticket to the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals that were going for a $225.00. I have paid Maitre D's 50-100 dollars to sit me quicker, It all about how badly u want something.

I just paid 3k over MSRP for a 2009 R8 not to bad in my opinion.

Again it's all about how bad u want something!!!
