From what I know people will take delivery end of year 2009 for 2010 model. Price will be around 40K more then MSRP for the V8. Every dealer however is selling at "Market Price" any new orders and deposits placed now.

When it stops burning to the ground... They've destroyed three RS8 prototypes now.

Wrong R8's. The new models will be powered by a N/A V10 similar to the Gallardo. It will be a V10 with FSI. Dealers are already taking deposits and mules have been running around Europe for quite some time now. Expect Late 2009 or early 2010.

Right, I was referring to the fact that they just fired off another rESSeight while testing it. The twin turbo V-10 isn't looking like a good plan...

The R8 V-10 info you have is right. Late '09, but at "market price."

R8 V10

I spoke to my Audi rep two weeks ago as I have a deposit down for one.
Ordering for the R8 V10 will start in the 2nd quarter of 2009, with delivery sometime in Q3 as a 2010 model.
The Targa is supposed to be available as a 2010 model as well.
My rep told me if the Targa is available when I order, I can get it!
I am paying MSRP, not market price!
Hope this helps.

BTW, I have had a deposit down for nearly a year and I am #3 at my dealer.

Congrats on getting it for that price! That probably has something to do with waiting almost two years.

2nd or 3rd quarter 09 for the R8 V10. V12 TDI isn't going to happen.

The 5.2L V10 Audi R8s will be released in fall of 09 as a 2010 model. The most noticable difference is the extended scoops/"blades" to get the V10 a little more air.
Example here:
