My new black A5!
My new black A5!
Took delivery last week, love it so far. Very comfortable and suprisingly quick for such a heavy car.
2009 A5
options:
19" wheels/sport suspension
6 spd. manual
premium package
Cinnamon brown leather on aluminum trim

Using the foam gun to gently cleanse the paint finish as a pre-wash prep

After a nice wash

Next to the 335i

Love cinnamon brown!

After some light paint polishing work to jewel the finish... this is not even close to what I have in store for the full detail of this car
No wax or sealant...

Thanks for looking, a full write up on the detail of my A5 will be up shortly.

Same deal here in NJ. Ive seen about 4 or 5 S5's and just 1 or 2 A5's. They didnt make very many of them in 2008, they bumped production a little in 09' though.

^^thanks guys. so far after some real driving time I really love this thing! The interior is the best part, very comfortable and a its a very driver oriented layout. Again thanks
congrats! will be getting a new car in 09 and this one on the top of my list; i'm seeing alot more of them being available at the dealerships in my area. I'm still hoping for TDI in the states (lol)
The 335i is my brothers car but I have spent a good amount of time driving it. Honestly I thought it would romp my A5 but I think I could run strong against it. Granted my car is a stick but even still the twin turbo 6cyl in the 335 doesnt feel very quick compared to the A5, maybe the conv.'s extra weight is the problem. Its still a great car that you can have a lot of fun with, stock exhaust note is very nice as well, the A5 runs a little too quite at idle for my tastes but the engine does have a great hmm under hard acceleration through 1st and 2nd... im not gonna baby this car and do a soft break in. The dealer said the cars computer adapts to your driving so if I baby it, it wont perform later when I wanna have some fun. Im still keeping it under 65mph and not redlining until the firstt 1000miles or so. The A5 interior is far superior to the BMW, more spacious, luxurious and more driver oriented. Plus the heating system is awesome, seat warmers and climate control work very quickly...nice for 35degree NJ mornings
I just got my A5, which is almost identical to yours. (I don't have the S-Line package which I am sure has changes the dynamics of the drive, so keep that in mind with my post)
My GF has a 335xi sedan, and the 335xi is much quicker in my opinion. The A5 steering is not as precise, and the road feel is much softer. Basically, the BMW is much more driver oriented, BUT, the A5 is better looking inside and out. Both are great cars, and I am VERY happy with my A5. It is my daily driver, and has more than enough power. I would say the A5 compares with the BMW 330xi in performance which is more than enough for most folks. The downside to the A5 is price, but for that you get exclusivity. I am always asked about the car while at the gas station.
I don't think anyone can go wrong with either car.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have been enjoying mine.
PS: if you can get the B&O stereo, do it. My ipod connected to the car through the speakers is awesome. Bass may not be as rich as some may like in their music, but midrange and highs are great IMO.
