R8 V-10 Orders?
R8 V-10 Orders?
This past week I was at the Audi dealership. While looking at an R8 on the floor the sales manager approached me. She told me that my sales guy would be calling me soon to chose my options for the R8 V10. Apparently the factory wants to know how many serious buyers they have. I asked if they had a list of the options yet and whether they had pricing and she said they had neither. Has anyone else heard the same?

That's the situation. The dealer can put your order into the computer. But there is no pricing, no word on when they will have pricing and no word on when orders will actually be delivered.
Vielen Dank Herr Commandant.
By the way, I feel pretty stupid. I had been led to believe that the V-10 was going to be a TDI. As I've looked through all of your links to the Euro Auto sites and looked at the films, it looks clearly like a normally aspirated car. Kinda bums me out.

What you've heard is right. They are queuing up their orders and submitting them, but don't have full specs or prices yet.
As for the engine, yes, it's the NA engine that's in the LP560. The V12 TDI probably won't be produced.

I've been told something similar in that ultimate pricing is still unannounced at least here in the US, but it would be good to get my order submitted to show the demand. I have been given an options sheet, but with no prices on them. Their ballpark guess for me actually getting one, if I submit an order and accept it later, is about 18 months from now. So I don't know what's going on. I haven't been asked for a deposit, either way. I bought the V8 from them, which is supposed to get me in on a priority order, but the vagueness of it all is odd.

How can they hold you to your order if you don't know what the final price will be?

Got the call! They are sending me over the R8 V-8 brochure and an order form for the R8 V10 since they don't have anything for the V-10 yet. Since the first two guys on the list have have bagged out, I'm now #1!! (at my dealership

Congratulations, if this means what it sounds like it means!
As far as I can get from the folks that are ordering them, there is no date or price, or information available. As stated in earlier post, they are trying to figure out how many folks are serious about ordering the car.
Best guess that I've heard is late 2010.

my wife. They don't require deposits from me. I'm sure that when pricing is announced and if I didn't like it I could pass and then they could
change the options I ordered for the next customer.\
In calif they can't hold you to an ordered car anyhow.
I have the first car coming into my dealership, but have been told by them that they have not received allocation yet... and haven't even received a call regarding the options guide. Anyone hear otherwise?
