It took a while before people could break 10's in a stock Z06.

Point being, each car is a different beast and people need time to know how to utilize them to their best. That being said, it's been proven stock for stock, the S4, despite being a pig, is better than the 335i performance wise. Mod vs mod has yet to be established, but I'm going to bet a modded S4 with its greater traction at the dig will probably beat a 335i/xi. That doesn't mean the 335i sucks, it just means there are better cars out there. You and your boyfriend QUEERI0 will still be able to get teeny boppers to look at you as you roll by with your left arm out the window wearing your D&G shades because no one cares about one car being .014 seconds faster than another car except ricer boys like you. So stop worrying about that and just respect the S4 for what it is.

Now hopefully you and QUEERI0 can stop crying.
Breaking 10's in thestock Z06 was a function of the density altitude, traction, and launch, not some sudden burst of power that was unlocked.

You do not know drag racing if you think suddenly the trap speed of the S4 is going to radically change. In the same conditions as the 335 it barely had 1 mph. If you run the 335 in the same conditions as the S4, this will be a constant.

In another thread you said you were "mature" yet again you result to childish name calling. Once again, try and address the points, you can, can't you?

I don't really care my car would smoke both anyway so I don't really have alot of emotions invested like you think. But I think you care alot because you're hoping to finally buy your first car and this just so happeneds to be the car you want.
According to you I have no car (because apparently I can't afford one), but I'm going to login to a Porsche forum only because I want to buy a $50,000 S4?

You need to write bathroom novels, this stuff is pure gold.

I need to go drive one, I am curious how they were able to mitigate the understeer with its front weight bias and FWD based AWD system.

B8 chassis have way less front weight bias. I got my S5 corner balanced a couple of months ago and it wasn't that bad, like 55% / 45% and I would imagine the S4 is not very different.

The AWD system is also no longer FWD based, the engine is longitudinally mounted, and the torsen has a 60% static bias to the rear.

Granted my car has coilovers and a rear sway bar, but on the track, I was taking the RWD line I was accustomed to, and didn't feel any noticeable understeer. If anything, the rear likes to come out at the limit.

I would imagine with the new optional torque vectoring differential, the new MDS chassis with revised engine/ transmission placement and better weight distribution that the S4 will be alot handier to drive car than the B7 S4 was.

And the Audi Quattro system is FWD based, which is different from FWD biased. My main problem with even the RS4 is it just did not feel that fast to me, and its alot of money to make it quite a bit faster. But with this new 3.0 engine with the TVS S/C it will make it relatively easy to mod and make big power and torque.

True. Audi finally decided to have RWD bias which is a good thing

Apparently no one knows the difference between FWD biased and FWD based!

I imagine it's still considered "fwd based" because the center diff is in the front and the front wheels are driven through a transaxle just like a FWD car. I'm not sure that this would affect driving dynamics (other than the aforementioned front weight bias) if most of the torque is still going to the rear. I'm new at AWD, maybe you can shed some light.

The afforementioned weight distribution but also the way the handling can be tuned which is alot different when you start with a RWD car with close to 50/50 weight distribution.

Bottom line: S4 or RS4 - neither is purely a track car or sports car. They are excellent street cars - I love my S4 for what it is - a highly capable daily. Mine is a B6 so it has the 50/50 power distribution and the godawful 62/38 weight distribution but at anything under 8/10s they drive surprisingly well. At the track or auto-x they are going to push - as is most any car you buy these days.

Obviously they can be modded to suit your desires.
