Audi Driving Experience: R8 V10 fsi

Audi Driving Experience: R8 V10 fsi @ Infineon Raceway, Sonoma California

All I can say is that it was an amazing 2 day experience. I pushed it to the limit heh or as fast as I could drive. I have also done 2 day racing as well as driving at leguna seca (skip barber). Driving the R8 was so much better than anything at leguna seca.

cant wait to go back for the 3rd day, hopefully in a couple of months.

here are some of my photos.

Cool

definitely recommend this to anyone even thinking about trying. especially if you are considering leguna seca or another driving experience. this one is the best!

wow sounds like a blast. how much does the 2 day run for the driving?? if you don't mind

i love the R8 and since BMW will not be making any more NA engines in the future for its M cars i will be looking to get the R8 in either the V8 or V10 in a couple years. would be really cool to drive one of these

Audi R8 Two-Day program
This driving experience includes:
  • Fundamentals of driving
  • Vehicle Dynamics
  • Technique of a Curve
  • Slalom Exercise
  • Extra Track time
I think it was about $3600-4000. On par with Leguna Seca but at Leguna you only get to drive bwms or porsches.

They told me a high percentage of ppl buy an R8 after going through this program.

wow cool not bad, i thought it would be more to be honest. not a bad idea to do if you are considering buying the car bc we all know how little you get to do in a 10min test drive if they would even let you test drive one. i know some dealers are dicks when it comes to that

do you need any special track experience etc or can you just go with a helmet?? i ask bc i don't have any track time at any tracks

thanks for the info

no track experience needed. they provide track training, theory and helmet.

it is designed so anyone over 21 can drive.

do it if you can, well worth it and pretty affordable.

I prefer the look of the lambo. The r8 is a much smoother and daily car. The Audi systems are pretty sophisticated and will keep you on the road & safe. The lambo doesn't have a ride cushion and. I have also never driven it like how I pushed the r8. With the Audi systems there is no under or oversteer even at its limits. In the odd chance that it slides out a little the system gets you back on track. I was happily surprised how well it handled.

Thanks Blizto

Blitzo,

As the newest member here at Audi Sportscar Experience, I wanted to thank you for posting those great pictures. I'll be taking the R8 One-Day on February 26th and I was hoping you could help me with a decision I need to make. Should I drive an R-Tronic or Manual R8? The people around here tell me how great the R-Tronic is, but I've always been a manual purist. Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Shawn Jackson

Hi Shawn.

I drove the R-Tronic, which was great. However, if you are a manual purist why dont you give the manual r8 a shot? I am sure that you get another opportunity to try out the r-tronic. lol r-tronic was fun tho.

all of the staff seemed to be race car drivers and drivers in training. i am sure you probably fall into one of those two categories.

it is a blast. i am taking my brother for his birthday and will do the 1 or 2 day together again.
