Based on MY2010 pricing (because supposedly the MY2011 pricing won't come until July!), MSRP is $57,600+$650 for metallic paint, after discounts, the final out-the-door price will be $66,000. Can I do better?

it's impossible to guage anything without a more detailed breakdown of the price including taxes, fees, etc...

With the dollar at par and Audi warranties remaining valid in Canada have you considered an American car?

Unless you get amazing deals and treatment from yor Audi dealer I don't see any point in paying Canadian prices.

I thought that it was next to impossible to import a US car into Canada?

LOL. Is that what the Audi dealer said? It's incredibly easy to import a car into Canada. I'm on my 8th American car.

Those are two websites to get you started. If you want, send me your email and I will give you package i put together that has the process detailed step by step and has the required paperwork in it.

Don't waste your hard earned money. Buy American.

Filling out a couple of forms and shopping online is too much of a hassle? I just offered to make the process even easier on you.

It's your money, it's your call.

So you bought a US car too? I'm not at all familiar w/ the process. If it's so great, not sure why it's not more popular???

In fact, I am on my 4th vehicle that I bought from the U.S! 2 Porsches, 1 Jeep and a motorhome!!!

Allot of people don't know the process, and then hear news reports on how difficult it is and that the savings are next to nothing...lol....for what I paid for both my Porsches, I could turn around and sell them today and easily make 8-10K profit each car!!!

I saved so much money buying my M3 in the States and importing across the border. It was well worth the small amount of extra effort, and the drive home in my new car was one of the best experiences of my life.

The process is so easy, and saves so much money that I offer to help all friends/family buy an American-owned car and I'll do all the work (for a small fee of course). Don't spend extra money just to purchase from a local dealership when you could get more car for the same price south of the border. It'll take one heck of a deal to convince me to buy from a Canadian dealer instead of going south.

So where do you all buy? I assume near the border, like Detroit? Or Seattle? You buy sight-unseen? Does that mean Canadian dealers near the border are all close to out-of-business since it is so easy to import, apparently?

I bought from all over the States, but majority of my vehicles came from Chicago area. Don't really care about Canadian dealers, if their prices were competitive with U.S dealers then people wouldn't bother shopping in the States!! Try pricing out any GM or Ford vehicle that is currently manufactured in Canada, I'll put money on it that you will get it cheaper at a U.S dealer!!

Thor is absolutely right. The reason Canadian dealershops near the border still exist is because of people like you who are either too lazy to put in the slight bit of more effort to save yourself thousands or are clueless to the amounts of money that could be saved.

I'm west coast, so I've purchased from Seattle and my personal M3 came up from California. The one from Seattle I went and checked myself, but on my M3 I got two different BMW dealerships to give me a full report on it, and they were very good...even to the extent of describing each and every one of the tiniest scratches that were later solved with an afternoon of detailing.

It really is amazing how un-competitive Canadian dealers are. A good friend of mine owns a couple dealerships here, and he finds it's cheapest to buy his own personal vehicles from dealers in the States, then he drives them here for a bit, puts them for sale on his lot as slightly used, and still is able to turn a profit on it. Go figure..

I got this from another forum. Doesn't seem importing from the US is good after all...

Canadian TTS Loaded = $65,450 CDN
US TTS Loaded = $54,320 US, roughly $55,250 CDN ( Seems like the Cdn model offers more options)

If I remember correctly, taxes, duty and fees work out to be almost 15%, so the total comes to $63,540 CDN.
Add in the costs to ship it, or fly down and drive it back and you are pretty much equal, or maybe even a bit more.
Also, I'm not sure you can buy a brand new car from the States, might have to be used.
