Need advice about 2010 R8V10

My friend is new to fast cars and just got the following build summary/plan from AWE tuning.

My advice to him was to get some seat time in the car w/ just a tune/exhaust (he has never had a really fast car) before doing anything crazy like full suspension and a TT kit.

I know very little about the R8's so I am turning to you guys for some advice.

Here are the build suggestions:

Doesn't sound like he needs any of that besides a tune and exhaust if he is new to fast cars....

$10,500 in brakes? It already has great brakes.

Ride height? Improved brakes? 0-60 times? Improved cornering?

So not only is he new to high HP cars, he's such a track star that he thinks the factory platform is insufficient?

Sorry, I know this is not what you sought, but I find the back story a little amusing.

I'd get a few of those power mods. And leave it at that.

That is exactly what I have told him so far....the car already handles and stops very well. His best bet is to work on the "driver mod."

Once he gets some drive time he might change his mind. Just watching videos and looking at pictures really doesn't give a good prospective on how fast the car is actually moving. He might not understand, but with these cars STOCK you can get up to ~130 very quickly.

It should be interesting to see what he does.

The V10 is more than most anyone needs out of the box - if the car is going to be a dedicated track car, after some seat time - it will be apparent what it needs (if anything) Why drop the thousands and thousands of $ on stuff when you have no base-line?

Have him call OEMplus here in California. They do a ton of custom R8's for customers all over the country. Good advise and no bias...

Put some seat time in. Car is truly incredible. I just picked mine up and considered modding but find myself happy with a few simple things.
