After a long search, I finally found my new summer daily driver. The car is a silver 6MT 2008 R8 with black interior, 6k miles, premium package, enhanced leather, B&O, Nav, and alcantara headliner...basically everything I wanted minus carbon sideblades

The car was delivered yesterday (up from California), beating the snow by a mere 12 hours:

I'll post some more pictures once I've had a chance to detail the car...given the upcoming weather, it may be a few weeks...

One of my favorite cars I've ever driven...brakes were my favorite. I hit the seatbelt catch the first 3 or 4 times I hit the brakes.

great pick up. i'd be interested in your review against the gallardo. many have said the r8 is more dail friendly. i am curious how since the cars are on the same chassis.

 

Hey, thanks for the compliments guys. In my (so far) limited driving experience, the R8 seems quite a bit more smooth on the road (assuming that's the MagRide suspension of the R8 over the rather stiff springs of the Gallardo) than the Lambo; visibility is definitely improved and it seems a bit easier to get in and out with slightly less-wide door sills. The Gallardo (especially with a very loud Tubi exhaust) is a much more viceral driving experience, but the R8 seems like it will be much more livable on a daily basis. It also seems to attact less attention, which helps with everyday parking. I'm still driving it in-between snow storms, but I'm hoping the weather will clear up soon...
