The dealers are making better deals because the new R8 is just around the corner. It should arrive in 2014.

Two years is forever in the retail car industry. More than likely supply/demand have caught up with one another is the main reason the prices are slowly coming down. Even the light revision of the existing structure is about a whole year off, so unless you have an extreme long term vision for your ownership experience of the R8, (and many owners don't), then I think buying now is not economic suicide.
