New R8 Prices
Yes ive been reseraching these for the last few weeks and called several dealerships. They only have 8% markup or so and arent willing to budge much unless they have a few in inventory. On top of that, used one only sell for 20k or so below a brand new one! Unless you find a really good deal id say its way better to buy new. but then you have the 4 month wait time ;(
There was a white one that was listed on eBay a few months ago that was trying to get less than MSRP. Car was new but already built and in the showroom. I think he offered $7k off of MSRP of $154k (v10).
I doubt you can get less than MSRP on a special order but if it's been built there should be room for negotiation depending on location.

I did a really rough search for an R8 V10 around me (Southern California), and found a dealership guaranteeing $3,000 off MSRP.
Best of luck.

Hey, the good news is you can actually order one and get it reasonably fast.
I picked up my 5.2 last year after being on a waiting list for 2 years. When I ordered it, the next model after the 4.2 wasn't even commercial yet. I told the dealer I wanted to be first on the list for whatever came out next. I love the car.

Something to think about before placing an order for 2012... (unless you are going with manual)
