quick pricing question - S4 Avant

Hi guys-

just doing a quick gut check here. I'm about to close a deal on a 2006 S4 Avant manual trans car. No accident history, original paint, 32,000mi, all stock. agreed to price is $28k. From my research this is a better than average deal on this car. Maybe not the steal of the century, but good. Any thoughts? Anything I need to be aware of with these cars?

Thanks,
Matt

that's a good deal if the car is the right car. 06 cars are usually pushing down to the 20k range, however in great condition and low miles, they can be closer to 25. It should be noted that Avants in manual are hard to find as I'm sure you just found out....so that's a pretty big wild card.

That car is Avant, Manual, low mileage...so unless it's painted custom pink with a roller, or has been hit a bunch of times, the price is 'right'.

As for what to be aware of, I'd get it COMPRESSION TESTED by an Audi Dealership before buying. Make sure the cylinders are all strong. If you have scoring on the cylinder walls causing a weak engine, you'll end up needing a new one...and a new 4.2 MPI is about $15,000 through the dealer and about $6-8,000 with labour for a used one.
