Can an R8 be driven in the Winter

Just curious about whether any R9 owners drove their cars in the winter.

Of course, winter tires are a must.

I live in Toronto Canada, and for the most part, roads are plowed and deep snow is not an issue.

Assuming the R9 is a typo (I'm not that familiar if this model exists or not), yes, the R8 can be driven in the snow (if, as you said, it is plowed).

I've asked this question a lot, as I was heavily considering an R8 this fall (I've since decided to wait until the Jag CX-16 comes out). The ride height would be the biggest limiting factor.

Hopefully, somebody with experience can chime in.

(As the wife just resubmitted her vote for the R8 again two days ago)

R8 is certainly a typo - and yes, clearance is the biggest issue and availability of suitable winter tire sizes.

but judging by the video, it shouldn't be an issue.

Winter driving is half my life around here. I have a set of wheels with dedicated snow tires for all my highway cars including the R8, Porsche C4S, GT-R, and BMW. The only issue is my windshields. Just replaced the BMW and GT-R. Over 1000 each and I have 1k deductable. Therefore I preferr to drive the Porsche (cheapest windshield). They all drive great and are made for it. Will

I certainly don't see why not one wouldn't be able to. AWD + winter tires and you're in snow heaven

ground clearance... I rented one in Germany and it handles great on light snow...

I have an X6 for winter but i still prefer to take out the R8. May i suggest you invest in 3M protection though.

There's a guy (Roy?) that deals in Lamborghini's in the Seattle area that drives Gallardo's in the snow. Since the car had 4 wheel drive and snow tires the CHP (California Highway Patrol) couldn't stop him from going over a high pass in bad weather. As he told the story they were taking bets on him not making it and were surprised to see him on the other side. Surely the R8 is more capable despite the cars similarity.
