GIAC Software for 2012 Audi R8 V10 Applications is now available!

The 2012 Audi R8 V10 comes well-tuned from the factory, but the GIAC software upgrade will deliver a little more power, torque and drivability for your day on the track, or just around town.
* Increased horsepower and torque gains of 30-35 hp/ 2-4 ft lbs. at the wheels are supplied on the supplemental dyno plot. Crank gains are estimated with a 28% drivetrain loss
* Improved drivability, with power and torque gains across much of the rev range.
* Enhanced throttle response for a drive-by-cable system feel.
In addition to the pump performance mode, a GIAC Handheld Switcher along with Race, Valet and “stock” modes are included with purchase. Pump mode has variable switching maps for 91 and 93 octane fuels. Race mode has maps that require 100 octane fuel.
Dynamometer test results from the GIAC MD-500 Mustang dyno are included here. The graph plots three runs (wheel HP and TQ) for a 2012 Audi R8 V10 on 91-octane fuel. The first run is with factory programming. The second and third runs are with the GIAC pump performance program on 91 octane fuel. All runs are performed with a full GMG Racing exhaust system and factory intake system in place.

This GIAC software can be installed by any GIAC authorized dealer. Customers are advised to call ahead to ensure that their local dealer is ready to flash this high security ECU application. Please contact GIAC, or your local GIAC dealer for pricing.
Note: Quoted software gains are for 2012 models only. Please contact GIAC for information on software for 2010-2011 models.
Just some information. You really cant accuratly compare dynos from different cars on different days on most importantly different dynos. A mustand Dyno is notorious for showing lower numbers than a Dynometer for example. Also this R8 has a full exhaust on it so it is also difficult to compare it as well. Sometimes it comes down to more than a slight difference in gains for people to choose what they prefer. I dont know AMS well but I do know Giac from my VW days and they have a great reputation and many customers. I am not saying anything against AMS because I am sure they are good as well but I dont know enough about them. That alone is a reason for some to choose Giac. Hopefully that helps answer your question some. I would love to have to make the decision on which one to put on my R8 V10 lol.
Agreed\
You simply cannot compare dyno numbers.
What you can compare is a companies reputation and GIAC has been involved in Audi tuning from day1..
Additionally we have been working with GIAC for over 10 years and have never had a issue such as a engine failure... Thats alot more than I can say for the majority of the other tuners.
One thing to look at when considering a tune for a car is the cars drive ability more so than peak HP #'s - GIAC has consistently out performed in this area.
We went with GIAC on our Twin Turbo R8 V10 tune and one thing that I can attest to is that the drive ability is improved over a stock NA V10... Even Road and Track was amazed how well the car performed offering better than stock drive ability.
Bottom line is.. There are a lot of great tuning companies out there.
I would recommend you go with a tuner who specializes in your type of vehicle.
